Veggie Yum: Fired Up Vegetarian

One of the things that I love about the weather improving at this time of year is that a portion of the nightly cooking can make its way outdoors. The cover comes off the barbie and dinner is barbecued to perfection a couple of times a week.

The only downside to this of course is that it can mean our diet becomes a little carnivorous. Meals become a bit meat-centric and as a result, a little heavy.

There’s heaps of great ideas in this beautifully presented cookbook. King of the grill, Ross Dobson has turned traditional bbq food on its head with this collection of eighty veggie recipes that’ll have your mouth watering. There’s dips and spices, breads and veggies. There’s skewers and salads to suit pretty much any palate.

My favourites… first on the list to try would have to be Grilled Corn with Jalapeno, Lime and Parmesan Butter. Yum. Next I’d have a go at Haloumi, Mint and Preserved Lemon Cigars. Yum Yum.

I’d go crazy for the Silverbeet and Feta Gozleme’s and then round it out with Japanese Vegetable and Ginger Pancakes. Yum Yum Yum.

There’s so many amazing ideas in this book, it’s going to keep me busy all summer!
