September give-away: ‘Room’

While I’m tapping away reviewing my last couple of days at the Melbourne Writers Festival. I thought I might launch this month’s bookish give-away.

You might remember that I recently reviewed Emma Donoghue’s challenging novel Room. If you’d like to read my review, you can find it here.

Donoghue’s Room is the painful story of Ma and Jack, both of whom are being held captive by Old Nick. It is poignantly told from the point of view of Jack, a eloquent five year old boy whose only experiences in life have been of ‘Room’ and ‘in TV’.

This book really moved me, and I’d like to give one lucky reader the chance to win a copy of this novel.

To go into the running to win a copy of Room, all you have to do is:

1. Leave a comment on this post, or

2. Visit That Book You Like‘s Facebook page

…and tell us about the most challenging book you’ve ever read – which book has moved you most, disturbed you, changed you in some way?

The winner of this month’s competition (selected at random) will receive a copy of Emma Donoghue’s Room.

Entries close Tuesday, 20 September 2011.
